Blog about technology related things

My son is keen on anything techology related and he reads Netguides and PC mags to keep uptodate with all the latest gadgets. (so he can brag about knowing more than me) :-p

He tells me about laptops and iphones and drops big hints about his birthday and Christmas coming soon.

Laptops seem to be becoming more common than home PC's. For every four laptops sold only one PC is sold. I suppose one of the big advantages of laptops is that they are portable so that they can be used anywhere. Also, if you are in a hotel or cafe a laptop can be connected up to wifi for using the internet.

So maybe one day we might get a laptop!

Flickr Mashups

While doing week 4 exercises, I found a Flickr mashup created by 'Jim Bumgardner'. It's a colour fields experimental colour pickr and if you want to have a look at it just go to http://www.krazydad.com/colrpickr/. On the website you can adjust how bright or dark you want the colours and the pictures change according to the colour you have chosen.

Here are some interesting library pictures I found on Flickr for week 4 of my training. The first one is of a library in London, the second one is of a university library in Berlin, Germany and the last one is like our library shelves get sometimes! Hope you like them.

I am leaning about blogging.

I have an email address, a blogname, a million passwords, a blog title, a blog name but not much of a blog yet.

I know about books but not much about blogs yet, maybe later I can tell you what they are about.

Have you heard about Kindle, some sort of EBook device, I don't have a Kindle but maybe some of you have one. They say they are going to be popular so maybe we won't need as much library space if everything is going electronic. Maybe I should apply for a job as a robot.

I think I might be a robot already!!

Anyway I do like books but I don't have many just a few hundred thousand and I can never find the one I am looking for.

Have been working through Lesson 2 and found it quite hard. I now know about RSS (really simple syndication). It was fun choosing the various feeds to subscribe to. Have had a look at the recipes feed which had a lot of summertime recipes and did'nt feel right for us during winter. This is a family affair and we are all learning from these lessons. Lesson 2 took a long time to complete and hopefully the next lessons will not be so long '-'
